Neo’s nieuwe avontuur: Een coöperatie voor groeiende CleanTech ondernemers

Edgar Neo, bekend van oa Funda, thinQ en peeers heeft na zijn aanstelling als clustermanager bij de succesvolle business incubator BVIT, nu zijn zinnen gezet op de CleanTech sector. Samen met een aantal andere succesvolle ondernemers van verschillende pluimages wil hij met de lotsov coöperatie ‘clean technology’ bedrijven zowel nationaal als internationaal laten groeien.

De coöperatie
Bijzonder is de samenwerkingsvorm die deze ondernemers gekozen hebben, namelijk
de coöperatie. “Bij start-ups is er naast seed-money vaak enorm veel sociaal kapitaal nodig. Een netwerk voor je launching customers, je investeerders en andere ondernemers om je te coachen. In tegenstelling van de BV of de NV, maakt de coöperatie het mogelijk om ook deze non-materiële activa te ‘waarderen’ met een lidmaatschap.” aldus Neo.
Verder helpt de coöperatie met cashmanagement, groeifinanciering, launching customers en vele andere zaken die normaal voor start-ups buiten de mogelijkheden liggen. “We willen deze CleanTech start-ups helpen snel te groeien en dat doen we niet door hoge uurtarieven te
rekenen, maar door mee te delen in de waardecreatie. Daar staat de ‘V’ van lotsov * dan ook voor!”

What’s in a name? - lotsov*
Opvallend aan deze coöperatie is de naam: ‘lotsov’. Vooral Edgar Neo hiervoor een gelijknamige stichting bestuurde. “Dat was ‘mijn’ werkgelegenheidsproject waarmee we zo’n 300 jongeren aan passend onderwijs en / of werk hebben geholpen. Het doel was ze zelfredzaam te
maken. Nu vormen de jongeren zelf het bestuur. Ze hebben de stichting omgedoopt tot “peeers” en hebben mij niet echt meer nodig. Een mooier compliment kan ik me niet wensen.”

Rotterdam Racing en RDM
De eerste wapenfeiten zijn al een feit. lotsov* was met groot succes, actief partner van Rotterdam Racing bij het organiseren van een ‘Greenzone’ voor ING Racesalon in Ahoy Rotterdam samen met BVIT, EnviU en YesDelft! een heus CleanTech Business Incubator-programma aan het realiseren.
“Ik woon al op Heijplaat! Hier heeft het altijd al gebroeid, hier gaat het gebeuren en lotsov is erbij.” sluit Neo enthousiast af.

BViT in THE dutch entrepreneurs magazine sprout

i am sooooo proud! 'cause we're as the BViT incubator are in THE dutch entrepreneurs magazine called sprout.
the article tells the story how BViT competes with 'the attic' or 'the garage' as being an entrepreneurial spirited environment.

in holland we're not so good in recognising our true talent. lately only the dutch media (quote @ sprout catches on with articles on dutch companies being 1 of the world's best companies. and the BViT incubator as 1 of the top 3 incubators of the world!

personally i think it's rather funny that as a intern-turned-into-clustermanager and nicknamed 'mister orange' (among others) made it (in text) to the cover of sprout joined by the other mister orange aka mister easy aka just stelios founder of easyGroup.

talking about being in good company!


the other good news:
not only are we gaining more and more recogintion, being one of the oldest privatly funded (cluster / business) incubators. we also being nominated for an increasing amount of business awards. on the 30th of november we hear if we are awarded with the best incubator of the world award (hosted by the science alliance)!

so yes i am very confindent that i made the right choice with the BViT incubator formual being the basis for lotsov inc / cleantech incubator (i'm trying to pull off the ground in association with the rotterdam climate initiative) @ (rotterdam) heijplaat!

serial startupper a new word

today i was @ a networking spree! meeting several new contacts

when in a roundtable it was time to present ourselves someone corrected me. 'edgar! yes you're not only a social serial entrepreneur but also a serial startupper!'

so the new word of the day is serial startupper.

i hope i become serial finisher or serial exiteer 1 day too ;)
